Vivapetal

A flower only earns the word preserved if the colour holds

Everything we do sits between a field in the Yunnan highlands and a carton landing at your door. This page is what happens in between.

Where we sit

Highland flowers, processed within hours of cutting

Preserved flowers are made from real ones, and real ones have a clock on them. The faster a fresh cut moves into stabilisation, the better the finished petal holds its shape and colour. That single fact is why our operation is in Kunming rather than near a port.

The Yunnan plateau gives cool nights, strong light and a long growing window — conditions that produce flowers with enough substance to survive the preservation process intact. We work with growers on fixed quality criteria, take delivery daily, and move everything into processing the same day.

Quality & process

Every step exists to protect two things: colour and petal integrity

STEP 01

Harvest on fixed criteria

Flowers are cut at the maturity window where petals are firm enough to hold shape but still open enough to look natural. Immature heads collapse; over-mature ones shed. It is a narrow window and it is checked per batch, not per farm.

STEP 02

Stabilisation

Cell sap is drawn out and replaced with a conservation-grade preservation solution. This is the step that turns days of life into years — and the step most suppliers rush.

STEP 03

Hand grading, twice

Sorted once by size, then again by grade. Grade A means uniform, intact petals and a clean silhouette. Grade B is sound stock at a lower price for volume work. A carton never mixes the two.

STEP 04

Colour matched to a reference

Stock shades are dyed from existing recipes. Custom colours start from a Pantone, fabric swatch or photograph; we produce a dye sample, you approve it, and the retained sample stays on file so later orders match the first.

STEP 05

Pre-shipment inspection

Petal integrity, colour match against the approved sample, and a counted piece check. If a batch misses on any of the three, it does not ship and we tell you why rather than shipping and hoping.

STEP 06

Packing for the journey

Moisture-barriered cartons with an itemised packing list. Vacuum sealing for sea freight. Express, air or sea — whichever the order actually justifies.

Documents & compliance

What we can put on paper

Cross-border buyers need more than a nice product. These are the documents we routinely issue — ask for copies with your quotation and we will attach them.

Phytosanitary certificate

Issued per shipment for preserved botanical material, as required by the destination country's plant health authority.

Certificate of origin

China origin documentation for customs clearance and preferential tariff claims where applicable.

REACH declaration

Available for EU-bound shipments, covering substances used in the preservation and dyeing process.

Flame-retardant report

Third-party test report for treated reindeer moss used in commercial interiors. Requested per project, quoted separately.

On sustainability

Preserved flowers need no water, no fertiliser and no cold chain after stabilisation, and they replace dozens of fresh stems over their lifetime. That is the honest version of the sustainability claim. We do not claim certifications we cannot show you a certificate for — if you need a specific one for your market, ask and we will tell you straight whether we have it.

Being straight with you

What preserved flowers are not

You will sell these on to your own customers, so you should know the limits as well as the pitch.

LIMIT

Not indestructible

They last years, not decades. Direct sun fades any dye over time, and a humid bathroom will shorten the life noticeably.

LIMIT

Not waterproof

No water, ever. Preserved material is stabilised, not sealed — contact with liquid damages the petal structure.

LIMIT

Not identical

These are real flowers. Two heads of the same grade differ slightly in silhouette, and that variation is a feature of the material, not a defect.

Say this on your own product pages and you will get fewer complaints than the sellers who promise infinity. We would rather you knew before the order than after.

Order a mixed sample box and judge for yourself

The fastest way to evaluate a preserved flower supplier is to hold two grades side by side under your own lighting. Sample boxes ship in 3–5 days and the cost is credited against your first production order.
